Location: Community Hospital in Western North Carolina

AllCare Clinical Associates is seeking a board certified anesthesiologist to practice at a community hospital in Western North Carolina. The opening is due to a physician retirement.

Types of cases: general surgery, healthy pediatrics, ENT, urology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, podiatry, minor vascular, and OB/GYN, CRNAs place labor epidurals and are on-call after hours for this coverage, approximately 40/month. Some trauma, but mainly routine cases. Post-op pain block proficiency is a requirement.
Anesthesiologists are supervising physicians, not medically directing.
Three anesthesiologists cover the facility, 12 days on / 9 days off. CRNAs provide primary call, but the on-call anesthesiologist also comes in, with the exception of Labor Epidurals.
Anesthesiologist must be comfortable with personally performing cases, but not the daily routine. Team Care approach philosophy and exceptionally collegial anesthesiologist/CRNA practice.

Location: Various Locations in Western NC

POSITION SUMMARY: Operates under the medical supervision of anesthesiologists, for the purpose of administering anesthetic or sedation during medical procedures, using local, intravenous, spinal or caudal methods.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: ~ Responsible for pre- and post-operative care as it relates to the delivery of anesthesia. ~ Conducts a pre-op assessment of the patient. ~ Administers anesthesia during medical procedures ~ Brings the patient back out of anesthesia, and then follows up to ensure the patient's recovery from the anesthesia. ~ Monitors the patient's vital signs during surgery, and adjusts the level of anesthesia accordingly, while coordinating with the surgical team

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: ~ Licensure to practice as a CRNA in North Carolina ~ High-quality, personal accountability standards. ~ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ~ Strong PR skills for practice promotion. ~ Extensive knowledge of clinical and administrative aspects of the practice of anesthesia required.
